Pattern: Deepening Twilight

Deepening Twilight by Meghan Jones was inspired by the moment of dusk just before the complete loss of light, when tree branches meld into the sky and become an intricate and barely distinguishable lacework. This shawl begins with an interesting way – with two groups of 156 stitches cast on to 2 circular needles using a provisional method. The stitches are worked in the round with increases every round on the edge charts. The stitch counts on the center charts do not change throughout the shawl. When all increases are complete, a knitted-on border is worked, eliminating the need to bind off a large number of stitches.
