Description

Sometimes we have a knitting pattern that catches our eye but the stated finished size is just a tiny bit too small or too large. The quickest way to fix that is to knit the project with smaller needles and yarn if you want it to be smaller, or larger needles and yarn if you need it to be bigger. This way you don’t have to rewrite the pattern or do much math. For more information on accurately measuring your gauge swatch check out this video.

Hi there. I'm Mary Beth Temple. Avid Knitter and Crocheter. Have you ever found a pattern? That's just a little bit. Not the right size that you want. It's a little too big. It's a little too small, just a little bit. And you don't wanna take the calculator out and have to redo all the math. Try doing a gauge swatch or a couple of rows or rounds in a different weight, yarn. If the patterns written in lace weight or fingering and you want it a little bigger. Try a decay. If it's written in worsted weight, you want a little bit of smaller. Try a decay. Now, you're going to have to change your knitting needle size to an appropriate size for the yarn that you wanna use. But sometimes getting the project size you want is simply a matter of stepping up or down with your yarn and needle size.
