Duration:   1  mins

Description

This crochet cast-off is great to use when you have run out of yarn but still need to finish a piece. Begin at the end opposite your working yarn, put the first knit stitch on your crochet hook, then grab the next stitch and pull it through the stitch before. End off by pulling your working yarn tail through the last stitch on your hook and you are all set to go! That is perfect! Thank you for the tip.

Hi, I'm Mary Beth Temple. What do you do when you have lost that yarn chicken and all you have to do is you bind off or you cast off? I'm gonna show you how to do it with a crochet hook. When you have no yarn left, now you want to orient your stitches. So you're beginning at the side that does not have the working yarn, the working yarn should be at the far end. Doesn't matter exactly what size crochet hook as long as it's suitable for the yarn. I'm gonna pop that first stitch onto my crochet hook and then I'm going to go one stitch at a time and pull it through the one before go to the next stitch, pull it through the one before I'm going to do this all the way across to the end. Remember, I'm heading towards that little sad tail. That is all that's left of my working yarn. When I grab that last stitch, I'm gonna pull it through, pull that little tail through which will keep it from unraveling and I have a perfect bind off or cast off however you like to say it and I didn't use any yarn at all.
